Mission Honored: A Dream Achieved
Memorial Day Celebration Monday, May 28, 2012
Plans are in the works for another big celebration honoring our veterans from approximately 11 am to 3 pm. We will have a hot Rhythm & Blues Band called the Rhythm Jacks playing live music for dancing - you may have heard them at Humphry's on Shelter Island or the Wagon Wheel in Santee. We will also be offering our famous All American Meal Deal, along with cotton candy, snow cones and ice cream. County Supervisor Dianne Jacob and Congressman Duncan Hunter plan to be in attendance for at least part of the day. We also plan on having a jumper for the children.
To further enhance the event, pilots Mike Meloche and John Hickman are heading up a group of pilots who will lead a flyover of beautifully refurbished WWII "trainer" planes during the ceremonies to begin at noon sharp. This year there will be fewer speeches and more celebration and fun!

Please plan to arrive early to find parking. At last year's Dedication Ceremony, there were thousands in attendance.
Honoring New Additions to the Wall
On Saturday, May 12, 2012, a ceremony was held at the Wall of Honor to celebrate the addition of more veteran tiles. The Wall of Honor Committee holds these ceremonies whenever a new group of veteran tiles are added to the Wall.
